(AP) — LAFAYETTE, La. - Home health provider LHC Group Inc. on Wednesday posted a 22 percent increase in third-quarter profit and reaffirmed its 2009 earnings guidance.
For the July-through-September period, LHC Group earned $9.8 million, or 55 cents per share, on revenue of $132.5 million. In the third quarter of 2008, the company earned $8 million, or 45 cents per share, on revenue of $98 million.
Analysts surveyed by Thomson Reuters, on average, had forecast per-share earnings of 52 cents and revenue of $131.4 million for the latest quarter.

LHC Group reaffirmed its annual earnings guidance to a range of $2.15 to $2.25 per share, while raising its revenue guidance from a range of $500 million to $510 million to a range of $515 million to $525 million.
The results were released after financial markets closed. In Wednesday trading, LHC Group shares fell $1.05, or 3.3 percent, and closed at $30.60. The shares have traded in a 52-week range of $16.56 to $36.83.
