LAMMICO Offers Payment of New Physicians’ LSMS Dues
Metairie- LAMMICO announced a new member benefit being offered to “First Year in Practice” physicians across the state of Louisiana. The announcement came as a result of a recent agreement reached with the Louisiana State Medical Society (LSMS) and the LSMS Physicians Services (LPS).
“This exciting program will benefit the state’s healthcare community,” said Thomas H. Grimstad, M.D., LAMMICO’s President/Chief Executive Officer. “We feel this new benefit will increase the membership levels of both the LSMS and component parish medical societies, while providing a value added benefit to LAMMICO insureds.”
Effective December 1, 2011, LAMMICO will pay the LSMS annual dues for “First Year in Practice” physicians who become LAMMICO policyholders. This will be a one-year only member benefit for first year physicians that are LAMMICO insureds and who become an LSMS member. LAMMICO has also agreed to pay the component parish medical society dues for LSMS “First Year in Practice” physicians who become LAMMICO insureds.
The combined value of this one year benefit (annual dues for the LSMS and component parish medical society) is approximately $400.00 per physician.
LAMMICO will also develop and present a tailor-made Risk Management Program that will be presented at the LSMS Annual Meeting in January 2012. Physicians who attend this presentation will earn one hour of CME credit.
LPS Supports LAMMICO
Based on LAMMICO’s relationship with the LSMS and a renewed commitment to work together to develop programs and initiatives that will benefit the members and insureds of both organizations, the LPS is recognizing LAMMICO as a long-time preferred provider of medical professional liability insurance by Louisiana physicians.
