Terrie Thomas, MD, Elected 2012 Chief of Staff of Woman’s Hospital
BATON ROUGE, La. – Terrie R. Thomas, MD, has been elected to a one year term as the Chief of the Medical Staff of Woman’s Hospital. As Chief of Staff, Dr. Thomas will also serve on Woman’s Hospital Board of Directors. A practicing obstetrician and gynecologist with Associates in Women’s Health, she is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and graduated from LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans, where she completed her OB-GYN residency. Dr. Thomas serves on the board of Motivating Excellence Academy.

Dr. Broussard received a Bachelor of Science degree in Premedicine from McNeese State University. She earned her Medical Degree, and completed a combined internship/residency in internal medicine and pediatrics, at Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans.
Louisiana Heart Hosptial Names Chief Executive Officer
Lacombe — The Board of Directors at the Louisiana Heart Hospital are pleased to announce that Charles Nasem, FACHE, has been named President and Chief Executive Officer. Charles joins the hospital most recently from Deaconess Health System in Oklahoma City, OK.
Charles is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. He received both his undergraduate degree and a Masters of Healthcare Administration from George Washington University. Working in hospitals for 35 years he has held positions clinically in cath labs, critical care and open heart surgery as a registered cardiovascular technologist, operated several departments as a director, and has led high performing teams as a senior hospital administrator.

Louisiana Association of Health Plans Elects 2012 Board of Directors
BATON ROUGE – The Louisiana Association of Health Plan’s Board of Directors will operate under new leadership in 2012. J Pegues, chief executive officer of Coventry Health Care, was elected board President at the association’s Annual Meeting and Recognition Dinner in December.
Pegues is formerly the Vice President of the LAHP Board of Directors. That role will be filled in 2012 by George Bucher of Amerigroup. Jeff Fernandez of Humana will remain the Secretary-Treasurer.
The association’s previous President, Glen Golemi of UnitedHealthcare, will be serving the board this year as a Director. He will be joined in that role by David Gandy of MultiPlan, Don Hidalgo of Health Associates, Lyle Luman of WellCare, Sonia Madison of LaCare, Warren Murrell of Peoples Health, John Price of Aetna, and Carol Solomon of Peoples Health.
