Bill Would Strip Providers' Medical Lien Rights | Louisiana state legislature, Louisiana Medical News

BATON ROUGE- A bill scheduled to be heard by the Louisiana State Senate Insurance Committee on Wednesday would effectively prevent hospitals, physicians, and ancilliary healthcare providers to be paid directly from a property and casualty insurer.  The bill relates specifically to medical payment coverage provided by an automobile insurance policy.

The bill, Senate Bill 169 [see full text of the bill here http://www.legis.state.la.us/billdata/streamdocument.asp?did=742134 ] is introduced by Sen. Dan Calitor (R) of Baton Rouge.
